CHI (AJANLA FARMS) LTD., a division of Tropical General Investments (TGI) is an agro-allied company whose belief in Agriculture is propelled and sustained by the philosophy that man's primary and central need before clothing and shelter is food. Located at Ajanla Village, off Kilometer 20 along Ibadan-Lagos expressway, the farm came into existence in the year 1986. A second farm, Sanusi farm started mid 2003. In total we occupy 200 hectares. The activities of the company consists of the following. Agro-allied operations. Marketing and sales of drugs, vaccines and chemicals. Sales, installation, servicing and repairs of Agro-Allied Equipment and Machines. Manufacturing of Fruit Drinks and Fruit Juices AGRO-ALLIED This consists of an integrated system, which employs in its total production process the philosophy of modern technology and the tools of sound management in producing quality products. The ranges of products are designd to meet and satisfy the growing dem ands of the local and international markets. POULTRY Day-old-chicks Production. (Broilers, Pullets, Cockerels) Eggs Production. Parent Stock rearing and breeding. Commercial Broiler chicken production. Annually, we produce 2.8 million broiler chicks, 2.4 million pullets and 2.6 million cockerels, making a total of 7.8 million chicks. Point of lay hens are raised for clients on demand. Our commercial broiler farm is capable of producing 1970 tons of live chicken and 1440 tons of dressed chicken annually. HATCHERY Our hatchery is equipped with top of the range modern automatic machines. We are well known for very high quality chicks. LIVESTOCK FEED PRODUCTION We have a modern 5 ton per hour Feedmill where we produce finished feeds and concentrates and fish ration. Also we have four 250 ton/silo capacity for grain storage. CATFISH PRODUCTION Production of tablesize catfish, fresh and smoked. Production, sales and supply of fingerlings. CROPS, FRUITS AND VEGETABLE PRODUCTION. Maize, and Soyabean are cultivated for livestock feed production. Pineapples, citrus, papaya and mango are grown and sold fresh and also used in processing of our popular drinks and juices, CAPRISONNE and CHIVITA. Ornamental flowers and exotic plants of aesthetic and economic value are cultivated. The establishment of water resources for irrigation and dry season farming. EMU PROJECTS This project is still on and is growing. Already, the company has made provision for multiplying its exisiting flock of EMU for future market. SALES, INSTALLATION, SERVICING, MAINTENANCE OF AGRO-ALLIED MACHINES & EQUIPMENT The company is a sole agent for the marketing of some agro-allied machines and equipments. Our teams of technical and experienced staff are available to serve the needs of our clients in the area of: Hatchery equipment and Machines: We represent Petersime in Nigeria. Poultry Equipment such as cages, feeders, drinkers, etc. We represent Big Dutchman in Nigeria. SALES AND MARKETING OF DRUGS, VACCINES AND CHEMICALS. We sell and market poultry and livestock drugs and chemicals. We are sole representatives of Dopharma and Intervet International. AQUA CULTURE (INTENSIVE CAT-FISH FARMING) Our Group has been playing a leading role in both high sea fishing cum shrimping and poultry farming activities. The attendant waste generated during the various dressing processes and how best to dispose of these waste, led to the concept of waste recycling in 1995. The need to utilise effectively these waste products and the development of a local source of protein for human consumption propelled CHI into intensive Cat-Fish Farming. The project is a pioneer of its type in Africa and is capable of producing over 2 million fingerlings and 450 tons of Cat-Fish on half an acre of land situated at our Head Office in Isolo, Lagos. Hatchery Plant Is capable of producing two million fingerlings per year, and as this is far ahead of the quantity required for internal consumption, the surplus is sold to the Nigerian fish farmers. These baby fish are offsprings of well selected parent stock capable of attaining a life weight of one kilogram after 6 months. Growout Plant We are capable of producing 450 tons of table size Cat-Fish per year. We utilise tanks of approx 10 m3, integrated in a recirculation system with a Biotower. Feed Development We produce high quality dry pelleted fish feeds of international standards which is balanced with high protein conten. Meat Proccessing The company is presently producing upto 20 tons of smoked chicken per month, smoking is done in specially designed cabinet controlled by computer checking temperature humudity smoke level etc. We also developed a whole range of different sausages and hamburgers, we produce now for the major fast foood outlets in Nigeria.
